Harrison & Simmonds has been a family business for five generations and in May 2008 celebrated its 80th anniversary.
This is the story of those eighty years and the events that led to its founding in 1928. The story moves from Buckingham to Salisbury and via Tunbridge Wells to Bedford.
It includes a family bible found walled up in an old inn, a beautiful Victorian proposal, the first registered chemist in Salisbury, the founder of Bournemouth and a mother widowed when seven months pregnant with a fifth child and a bookshop to run.
