The Mitsubishi G4M, officially designated as the Navy Type 1 Attack Bomber and codenamed "Betty" by the Allies, was the Imperial Japanese Navy’s primary land-based medium bomber during World War II. It had a remarkable range of roughly 3,700 miles (6,000 km), allowing it to strike targets far beyond the reach of Allied land-based bombers early in the war.
